BAND HISTORY
Guitarist Ryan Morgan and bass player Kyle Johnson had no intention of slowing down after the shocking split of 7 Angels 7 Plagues during the summer of 2002. Things were finally coming together for the band, and having just decided to quit school and work, Ryan and Kyle weren't about to switch gears any time soon. That very week they were hard at work writing songs for their new project, and later that month with the addition of Hamartia's Jeff Aust on guitar, Jesse Zaraska of Compromise on vocals, and Ryan's brother Branden on drums, Misery Signals was formed. Jeff Aust eventually left the band, cutting their spring 2003 tour short, they added Stu Ross on guitar and re-solidified their lineup. They are once again an insane touring machine.

Similar to 7 Angels 7 Plagues in style, Misery Signals play fast and heavy hardcore, tinged with brilliantly melodic interludes and transitions that converge into poignant masterpieces appealing to both the ear and the heart. Their debut 6-Song EP is a 25-minute personal and heartfelt journey through the heart and character of each of these determined musicians. This record showcases the desire and desperation of the group as a whole to persist and create in the wake of the demise of their respective bands. Misery Signals provides an outlet to express the anguish and hopefulness that drives its members, while producing a cathartic experience in listeners.

Look for their debut full length on Ferret in the Summer of 2004.
Dead To Fall
Dead To Fall
Chicago metalcore outfit Dead to Fall initially came together in 1999, undergoing various lineup changes throughout its existence. The band debuted to rave reviews in 2002 with Victory Records' Everything I Touch Falls to Pieces. Players on their first album consisted of Jonathan Hunt (vocals), Bryan Lear (guitar), Justin Jakimiak (bass), Sean Nichols (guitar), and Dan Craig (drums), and the band set the stage early for their brutal blend of heavy metal, hardcore, and Swedish metal tendencies. Tours with the Red Chord, Darkest Hour, and Malevolent Creation followed before member changes ensued. For their sophomore effort, Hunt and Jakimiak were rounded out by drummer Evan Kaplan and guitarists Antone Jones and Matt Matera (ex-7 Angels 7 Plagues). The more death metal-oriented Villainy & Virtue, produced by Eric Rachel (Atreyu, the Dillinger Escape Plan), appeared in September 2004, and the band next spent time on the road with Napalm Death, Most Precious Blood, and Remembering Never. Tim Java joined in on drums the following January; Chris Nolan replaced Justin Jakimiak on bass three months later. Returning to the studio, Dead to Fall next issued The Phoenix Throne in early April 2006. By this time, the lineup was comprised of Hunt, Java, guitarist Logan Kelly, bassist Chad Fjerstad, and guitarist Aaron Nelson. Phil Merriman eventually replaced Matera and made his recording debut with the band on Are You Serious?, released in February 2008. ~ Corey Apar
Too Pure To Die
Too Pure To Die
Too Pure to Die is a post-hardcore quintet comprised of Des Moines, IA, residents Paul Zurio (vocals), Jordan Peterson (guitar), Zach Johnson (guitar), Chris Towning (bass), and Kyle Rossi (drums). After recording their debut album with another vocalist in 2006, the group was signed by Trustkill Records, which had them re-record the CD with Zurio for re-release in the fall of 2007. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
With Dead Hands Rising
With Dead Hands Rising
With Dead Hands Rising formed in 2001. A year after their formation, the band was featured on a three-way split EP, Words as Weapons Volume 1 with Wings Of Scarlet and Tears Will Drown after signing to Life Sentence Records. In January 2003, the band's first full-length Behind Inquisition was released. WDHR followed up their first full-length with an EP titled The Horror Grows Near in May 2004 The band officially signed with Mediaskare Records in 2008 and released their last and final album, Expect Hell. A year after the release of their second full-length, the band was officially disbanded in 2009.

Nothing Left
Nothing Left
Nothing Left burn down the house with their gritty, two fisted approach to hardcore. Raw and angry, this 6-song EP refuels the flames of the early hardcore movement and makes you remember the dynamic underground music scene of your youth. “Destroy and Rebuild” is satisfyingly stripped down, with an in-your-face aggression—exactly what you’d hope for in a passion project from brothers Brandon and Ryan Leitru, formerly of For Today.
